I'm A Finalist!

OMG!!!! I am soooo excited because I'm a finalist in the ScrapsAhoy Idol Contest!! WhoooooooooHoooooooo!!!!  I can't believe it because this has been a tough contest! Everyone competing is a wonderfully talented artist and to be still standing among them is a huge honor! This is the last round and this is where the winner will be chosen, so I've gotta pull a huge rabbit out of my hat by Thursday!(LOL) Here are the entries from this last round.  The rules were to do 2 layouts.  One should focus on illustrations and handwriting.  The other one you were to give your camera to a loved one, let them take photos, and you scrap the photo and their journaling.  The illustrations weren't too hard for me, but the other one was about to kill me!  I gave my camera to my daughter Brittany. Well, she decided to take a photo of me and my mom.  I've gotta tell you that I would NEVER scrap a photo of me showing every one of my chins, but she insisted it was the one she wanted!(LOL)   Anyway, here they are. I'm Just Me!

You know, I like to cruise the web and I love checking out other peoples blogs. It's just so interesting to see what people blog about.  Especially scrapbookers.  You really do learn a ton about the person because a lot of people put some really personal stuff on their pages. After reading people's most intimate secrets, it makes me think that my blog is totally a snoozer to others. I'll be the first to admit that I am a very private person.  People who know me well still don't know everything about me.  Hey, I don't even talk on the phone let alone call people to chat!  I think for me it's the combination of me being very private with my personal life and the fact that I just don't have time to just chit-chat about absolutely nothing! Don't get me wrong- I love people and I love to have a good time, but I do find value in making your time count by doing something productive with it! So, I'll try to be as interesting as I can be, but I can't promise you anything!  No matter what, I've always got to be me!  Be Blessed!!

Been Home For Two Days

I haven't been to work in two days and I haven't done a thing to this house! I've been here because Michael has an ear infection and hasn't been able to go to school.  I felt soooo sorry for him. The first day he was so pitiful, but today....let's say he's feeling much better! (Uhg!) Anyway, you would think I would have cleaned up or organized something, but I didn't! I could use the excuse that I was too busy caring for my baby, but that would be lying.(LOL) You know what I've been doing?  Cruising the net, checking out designers and catching up on what's going on in the scrapping world.  I didn't even cook dinner yesterday!  I think I will today though, because I know I won't want to cook when I get home from work tomorrow.  Here are 2 layouts I did for Imagine, Create, Scrap! I'm A Lucky Girl

Okay, so I go to on a weekend trip with Gregory to Memphis.  We go to the Liberty Bowl(football game), go gambling, and we visit with some of his family.  Oh, I forgot to mention that we are childrenless, so we had a fabulous time!! Anyway, I applied for a spot on one of my all-time favorite sites, CreativeXpress over a month ago. Well, the team was chosen on Friday, but I didn't have access to a computer and dh wanted all of my attention so I had no idea who had been chosen.  I called to check my voice mail about 3 times, but there was no call so I assumed I didn't make the team.  Well, color me surprised when I got home tonight to find out I had made it and was on the CreativeXpress team!!! WhoooooooooooHoooooooooo!!!  Here's the list of the new team members:

Amazing talent there right?  Six of the members are moving on, but the team will still rock!  I am just soooo darned happy I don't know what to do!!! A Good Day!

Today was a pretty good day!  Even though it's raining cats and dogs, the kids at school were pretty cool about not going outside for recess.  When I got home, I got a lot of scrapping done.  I finished two layouts and a card in three hours!  Now that may sound like a long time for only 3 items, but for me it's fantastic!  I am truly the slowest scrapper ever!  I have to look at it, walk away for about 20 minutes, and come back to it before I'm half-way done.  I guess I'm kinda picky.  I'll have an idea in my head and I refuse to give up the dream until I'm happy with the page!  Anyway, here is the card I did.  I hadn't stamped a card in a while so I decided to stamp tonight.  Take care and be blessed!

Round 5 Here I Come!!

I am sooooo excited!  I made it to round 5 in the ScrapsAhoy Idol Contest and I'm jumping up and down!  Let me tell you that this contest has really been a challenge and a ton of fun for me!  Each round they give you a specific challenge.  Let me tell you that the challenges really have made me work harder on my pages and that's a great thing.  The other contestants are sooooo good to!  There are two more rounds left before a winner will be announced.  If I win or not, it was a wonderful experience.  Thank you all who voted for me too!  Here is my layout from round 4.  The challenge was to make a layout about your hairstyles over the years.  This was not easy at all for me because I had to use lots of photos, which I NEVER do! They Who Can Do, They Who Can't Teach!

That's why I'm a teacher!! Okay, this is the 3rd time I've tried to make this post the way I want it and I'm not doing too well!! So, everyday is a new learning experience ( at least that's what I tell people!), so I ought to be able to figure out this TypePad thing!  I guess no one ever said it was always gonna be easy!!  Okay, I'm gonna post the layout I did of Tatum again, but this time I want you to actually be able to see it! My New Home!

Well, here I am.  I've moved from my old home over at "Blogger" and now I'm here on "TypePad".  So far I like what I've seen.  I hope you do too!

Well, I woke up this morning with scrapping on my mind.  I mean, I got up, fixed myself a cup of coffee, and sat down at my table and started creating!  I started out stamping. Then I moved into layouts.  I was truly on a roll and loving every minute of it!  You know how sometimes you just "need" to scrap?  Well that's what is going on with me this weekend.  I've had so much "stuff" going on at work and home that I needed to relax and free my mind! So, here is a page I came up with today and I really like it.  I used Basic Grey's Romani papers and a few small Prima's.  Don't you just love Basic Grey?? They have a line of papers for everyone!Take care and be blessed!
