What Can I Say?

What can I say? I'm in a scrapping mood, so here's another one for today. Here's my baby with my new favorite papers. These are from Scenic Route's new Laurel Collection and I LOVE IT!!! Happy Monday!!

Today was a crazy day at work, so what did I do to relax? Why scrap of course! Now, I usually am a slow scrapper where it can take me anywhere from 2-3 hours to complete a layout, but lately I've been knocking 'em out in less than an hour! I don't know what's going on with this, but I'm gonna ride it out for as long as I can! Anyway, here's what I did. I really don't have a title for it, so I guess I'll call it Smile. My Passion for My Heritage

Those of you who really know me, know that one of the true passions I have is my  interest in my heritage. That really is one of the things that got me into scrapbooking! I just love hearing all of the stories and looking at old family photos. When I was little I would always beg my grandmother to show me her old photos and share stories about our relatives in them. I was always fascinated and captivated by her and those photos, never growing tired of hearing about them. Well, when she passed away, she left me all of her photos. And let me tell you she had a ton. See, not only did she love photos, but she was a crafty chick too! I have a huge family and everyone was not pleased that I got all the photographs, but now I share with them by making keepsakes for them.  Anyway, here is a fold-out tag I made last night. It features my maternal grandparents and their children. We have such a rich history that I am pleased and especially proud to share it. I made this for my daugher. She may not want it now, but I know that she will appreciate it later in her life. Well, that's all for now! Take Care and Be Blessed!

So I'm Teaching A Scrapbook Class

So, I'm teaching a beginning scrapbook class and it is too much fun! I decided it was time to combine my two loves, teaching and scrapbooking, and I absolutely love it!  The class is composed of 20 parents and children in my community and I'm teaching the basics of scrapbooking. You know, some techniques and basic design principles. For homework (yes, I did give homework to my scrapbook class!(LOL) ) I assigned them to watch two episodes of CreativeXpress's Nth Degree segments.  Have you seen these? They're hosted by Kristy Lee and Kara Henry and they are really cool. They show you how we did some of our DT projects and demonstrate techniques, show products, etc. It's very informative! That's just another reason I love being on the DT there! They rock!! Anyway, I made this coaster this morning using the February kit from Self-Addressed. I used a photo of me and Gregory on our first date back in 1991! I was kinda cute back then!(LOL!) I just love that site and their kits rock! Well, take care and Be Blessed!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

I hope everyone had a happy Valentine's Day! I know I did! First, school was cancelled because of such terrible weather, which resulted in a day of me getting some scrapping done! I finished up some assignments I had to do and made some cards for fun.  I love making cards, but I rarely have the time to do so! Today was a good play day! And my honey Gregory was super-sweet today too! This is rare because he usually tries to play Valentine's Day down, but this year he went all out and I truly appreciate it! Anyway, I hope you had a great day! Here are some of the cards I made. The first one is the one I made for Gregory. The other two are some baby cards I made using all Doodlebug stuff. Don't ya just hate it when you're in a scrapping mood, but you've got 18 million "other" things you've got to get done?  Well, that's my today, but I did manage to squeeze out these two pages. Both layouts feature the beautiful children of my cousins' Joan and Shannon. I had a lot of scraps hanging around of some of my favorite papers, so I decided to use them. On both layouts I used papers from Rob and Bob and Urban Lily.  I just love anything bright and lively! I also managed to get a Prima flower of each page.
